Conditions on the Sun and in the solar wind, magnetosphere, ionosphere and thermosphere that can influence the performance and reliability of space-borne and ground-based technological systems and can affect human life. GFZ contributes to the development of forecasting and warning systems for space weather. Using insights from observations, analysis, and modeling, we work to improve the accuracy and lead time of space weather forecasts. These forecasts and warnings are critical for operators of critical infrastructure and space-based systems.

The GFZ Space Weather Website is the single point of access to data and products around space weather from sections 2.3 Geomagnetism with the Geomagnetic Observatory Niemegk and 1.5 Space Physics and Space Weather Available data products include nowcasts, forecasts, K-Based Forecasts and Project Based Products
