The GFZ supports the work of the International Heat Flow Commission (IHFC) of the IASPEI by providing thematic and technical support for the global heat flow database. The aim of the World Heat Flow Database Project is to develop a new research data infrastructure for the International Heat Flow Commission's Global Heat Flow Database, providing a one-stop-shop for comprehensive information on heat flow-related data, publications, projects and researchers. This new user-oriented web service will provide the geoscience community with quality-assured, up-to-date, well-documented, enhanced, enriched and restructured heat flow data via an interactive portal. After initial funding from the DFG, the GFZ will operate the data service permanently.
